Nigerian Port Immigration Authorities issue fines for Crew Employment Contracts not having a company
There has been a recent incident where the Master of a vessel was fined by the local Nigerian Immigration Authorities because the Crew Employment Contracts did not have the company stamp.
It is reported that this is a very serious infringement of Nigerian law and that a penalty of USD 2,000 would apply for each crewmember contract.
Operators are advised to ensure that all employment contracts have the required company stamp.
