Entry to Enclosed Space Training

We have been asked by a number of clients to develope a course focused on the , Entry to enclosed space training. A number of clients are clamoring and requesting for the said course due to the rising number of accident related to the said activity.

Considering that these companies had already established safety checklist prior to conducting such activity thru their SMS but still they want to have their crew trained with the said training course prior to deployment.

Maybe time will come that this will be a mandatory STCW course and it will be added as a required drill to be conducted onboard vessels, if in the near future The SOLAS will again be ammended.

I agree with you Captain. Procedures and precautions prior to entering enclosed space are already incorporated in a company's SMS. Risk Assessment is one of the requisites. It's not STCW required course for now but I have been handling the said course at one of the training centers for quite some time now due to the request of principals of our customers.

Onboard tanker vessels we have enclosed space entry and rescue drills as stipulated in our SMS.

Maybe ammendment to STCW is forthcoming.
