Great Leaders are Great Listeners

Five guidelines to improve listening ability.

1. Develop an attitude of wanting to listen.
2. Focus your attention on understanding the person's meaning, not on formulating your response.
3. Use open-ended question to open up communication.
4. Use paraphrasing to ensure understanding.
5. Summarize conversations to ensure understanding and provide closure.

are they or their staff are? in this age, I think no leader does anything by himself and relies mostly on his/her staff such as the speechwriters, secretaries, office administrators. Sure enough he decides for everyone but even great leaders are sometimes at a loss even for words.
